Why is it free?
They claim that: "Hotels are not always able to book all of their rooms, and vacant rooms bring in NO revenue. Putting travelers in those otherwise vacant rooms for free brings in revenue in other ways, such as room service, hotel restaurants, shops, pay-per-view television, phone charges, etc. It actually costs a hotel more money to leave a room vacant than it does to give it away for FREE. We work with some of the world's leading consolidators who contract with major hotel chains to put travelers in those rooms that would otherwise remain vacant."

Is it really free? You do have to pay a $1.87 processing fee. And you are responsible for any taxes, room service charges, and any other incidental expenses incurred once you have checked into your room. Transportation to and from your desired destination is not included.

You also need to book at least 45 days in advance and avoid peak travel times.
